Buttery Lemon Garlic Rice

A while back, I wanted to cook up some salmon…but I wanted to dress it up real good so Harold would enjoy it too.  I went on a journey for a tasty fishy recipe, and when I found it I wanted to use a tasty rice recipe as a side.  I found this and added an oil twist to it.  Man it turned out nice!

Ingredients (4 servings)

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup basmati rice

1/2 stick butter

2-3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

3-4 drops YL Lemon Vitality EO

2-3 drops YL Black Pepper Vitality EO


Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan, except fresh parsley and EOs.

Bring to a boil over medium high heat, then reduce heat to low. Add Essential Oils, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed and rice is tender, stirring occasionally.

Add fresh parsley, additional black pepper if needed and fluff with a fork to combine.

Very tasty side dish!  And the lemon oil really gives this a big refreshing taste!  Give it a try!
